The biggest sport event of the year is getting closer and closer: it’s the Maratona di Roma, on Sunday 22 March 2015. Via dei Fori Imperiali will be both the starting and finishing point for runners; in between they will go through an itinerary 42 km 195 m long within the Eternal City, moving from the historical areas to the northern side before ending up again where everything began. The start is fixed at 8.50 am. Athletes from all over the world will take part to the event, with March 5 being the latest date for them to get registered.
As if it was not attracting enough, another event will be paralleling the bigger Rome Marathon: it’s RomaFun, “La Stracittadina”, a non-competitive 5 km walk within the core areas of the Eternal City, for all those who are not professional runners, but who still wish to spend a day in the open air. In this case the starting point will be once again via dei Fori Imperiali, at 9.10 am, with Circo Massimo as the arrival destination. For them registration deadline will be on March 22.
Hostel Des Artistes will offer you the perfect budget accommodation few steps away from a central hot spot (Termini station), to enjoy at best the first spring weekend in Rome!
