8500 electric cables, 550 light spots, 650 m high, a star 1000 m² wide: it’s the biggest Christmas tree in the world, and Pope Francis I just turned it on few days ago. The same pleasent office was given to Pope Benedict XVI in 2011.
The tree lays on a side of Mount Ingino, behind the town of Gubbio, in the central Umbria, and is included in the Guinness World Record since 1991.
Gubbio and Rome are linked by regular train connections. Staying at Hostel Des Artistes allows you to easily catch any local train from Termini station: ask our staff for more info!
