The inspirational theme of American pavilion at Expo Milano 2015 is “American Food 2.0: United to Feed the Planet”. U.S.A. are given the chance to display their outstanding contribution in food world production through the ages. They will highlight not only nutritional aspects, but also the role that science, business and entrepreneurial attitude played in the American agricultural development since the earliest stage.
The whole structure (an impressive building-and-annex covering 35,000 square foot space within Expo Milano’s 3.6 million square foot “smart city”) was designed by the prestigious architect James Biber of New York, who intended to include a vertical farm supposed to be harvested on a daily base. To use the architect’s words, “There’s a constant dialogue between nature and science in the USA Pavilion – and the proposition that they’re not on opposite ends of the spectrum, but very much part of a cooperative system […] America’s food story is rich and innovative – much more so than most people realize. We want visitors to understand and appreciate how complex and sophisticated our story is.”
145 countries will take part to Expo Milano 2015! For more details on each country pavilion check out the official website or just keep on following our updates at Hostel Des Artistes blog!
