The breakfast in the little bar across the road is a very good deal, in case your breakfast is not included and so is the Bistro - Dinner deal. If you don't want to spend too much and not walk too far. Had a great weekend in Rome. DV, Germany - 7 Dec '05

This was the best experience I have had in a hostel thus far. The staff was great, the rooms and bathrooms very clean. Also the common room was nice. It was right near the train station as well as a metro station. It was well worth what I paid, which wasn't much. Tiffany Thompson USA - 8 Oct '05

The thing that impressed me most was how clean the entire building was, from the hotel rooms to the washrooms. For shared washrooms they truly felt as if I was the only one using them. I had a great 5-day stay at Hostel Des Artistes. The rooms are clean, staff is friendly and the guests that I encountered while I stayed here were also great - I made some lifelong friends. It is very secure - which is comforting. The terrace is nice, too - very large. It's a good hangout area. I came back to Rome, as its my central travelling point - and I chose to stay here again for the night. It's that worth it :) I highly recommend it! A. Stevens - Canada - 6 Sept '05

This Hostel is very interesting. It is very well situated and the palazzo is beautiful! The terrace is perfect to eat a pic-nic or to have a little nap... This was by far the best hostel I have stayed in to this date. Everything was clean, there was very good water pressure, and never a line for the showers because there were so many available to all the hostel guests. We came as a party of eight adults and 7 teens and young adults. We were very impressed with the accommodations in the hostel and felt very safe with our 7 kids in the hostel rooms, just two floors below us. We booked eight beds so that their room would be exclusive to our group. It was a great place to stay, and we will certainly book there again. Staff was helpful and very friendly. Thank you. We stayed at the hostel part of Des Artistes for 9 days -- a very long stay and one that could have been miserable if the accommodations had been lacking in any way. Thus, we were more than gratefully surprised to find the Hostel Des Artistes to be the ideal hostel stay--clean, comfortable, friendly, quiet, great location, inexpensive--in short, it was all the comforts of a hotel for the price of an average-priced hostel! The Hostel part of Des Artistes is fantastic value for money. Within easy reach of the train station and major sites of Rome. The Room was clean and the ceiling fan was great. This hostel is the nicest hostel we stayed in while in Europe. The beds are comfortable and clean, the rooms are large, the showers are exceptionally nice, free internet, vending machines, large & quiet common room, even bins under the bed to store and lock your belongings. The staff is exceptionally nice and helpful. It is VERY close to the metro stop. And all this is for a cheap price. I wouldn't have stayed anywhere else in Rome. This hostel is in the perfect location if you want to explore everything; Rome is quite small anyway but being near the main terminal station is really nice because there are 2 metro lines and this is the where they meet. So you can always get back easily no matter which line you're on. And the best cheap food places are near the hostel. Having no curfew and free internet access is great. Perfect for a long weekend.
