What's the difference between Hotel Des Artistes and Hostel Rome Des Artistes?
The hotel part of Des Artistes has rooms with private bathroom and air conditioning. The hostel part of Des Artistes has private rooms with shared bathroom and dorm rooms. If you are interested in booking rooms with private bathroom, please visit the hotel part of Des Artistes

Can I smoke in the hostel?
No! The hostel is completely non-smoking. The only place you can smoke is the roof top terrace.

Is there an age limit for the hostel?
For private rooms, there is no age limit. For dorm beds, the age limit is 18 - 35 years.

What time is check-in and check-out?
You can arrive at any time, register and leave your bags. Rooms are usually not ready before 2 pm. Check-out is at 10.30 am.

What's the difference between the main building and annexe rooms?
The annexe rooms are located in other buildings, at max. 200 metres from the main building, in Via Palestro, Via Sapri or Via Magenta. The hostel rooms in the annexe are slightly cheaper than the ones in the main building because they have less amenities. Check-in for annexe rooms is in the main building of Des Artistes.

Do I bring my own linen?
No, fresh sheets, blankets and pillows are included. Towels are provided for private rooms. Bring your own towel if you are staying in a dorm room, or rent one from us at 1 €.

What about security?
We have video surveillance cameras inside and outside the building, 24-hour staff on duty, and security doors. Private rooms have their own in-room electronic safe and all dorm rooms have lockers - bring your on padlock or buy one from us at 5 €.

What is your cancellation policy?
You can cancel or change a confirmed reservation until 3 days before arrival. The penalty for late cancellation or no-show is one nights room charge. You can read more on our terms & conditions page.

How can I pay?
For private rooms, you can pay by credit card or in cash. The price for cash payment is lower than the price for payment with credit card (VISA, MasterCard, Diners or JCB). Credit cards are not accepted for dorm beds, dorms are cash payment only.

Can I walk in without a booking?
You can try, but in Rome it is always better to make advance hostel reservations. If you come to the hostel without a booking, we will go out of our way to find a bed or room for you.
